dog Neck girth
This is the length around your dog’s neck, where the collar usually sits.
Place the tape measure from the dog’s withers (the ridge between the shoulder blades) to the top of his chest.
Then, hold the tape measure close to your dog’s neck and measure all the way around it.
Use the rule of “two fingers.”
dog Chest girth
This is the size of your dog’s largest rib cage, which is usually right behind the front legs.
When he is standing, measure carefully all the way around his chest.
Use the “two-finger rule” to get the right amount of tightness by putting two fingers between the measuring tape and your dog.
dog Topline or back
Stand your dog up and use a tape measure to measure along the top of his spine, from where his neck joins his body (usually where his collar sits) to where his tail starts.
For male dogs, you might need to change the size. If the clothes you’re buying don’t have a hole for his groyne and belly, you might want to cut them a little shorter to reduce the chance that he’ll pee on them.

HEAD Circumference
Wrap the tape tightly around the widest part of the head, from the most prominent part of the forehead (usually 1–2 fingers above the eyebrow) to the widest part of the back of the head. Try to find the way around the head that is the widest. Measure it again three times and take the biggest number.
